KATH Human Resource Director’s Office chained shut by unknown group demanding his removal

-

The office of the Human Resource Director at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) has been forcibly locked with chains by unidentified individuals demanding his immediate removal from post.

According to sources, the group, claiming to be National Security operatives, stormed the hospital’s Human Resource Unit and ordered the director to cease carrying out his official duties.

The dramatic action, which took place during working hours, has left hospital staff stunned and disrupted essential administrative services.

Protest placards were affixed to the entrances of the unit, bearing messages such as: “Workers are working in a toxic environment,” “Withdraw your services now or face our wrath,” “#TonyMustGo,” and “#KATHDeservesBetter.”

The unexpected nature of the incident has left many employees stranded and shaken. Access to key HR services was halted, and staff expressed concern over their safety and the increasingly tense working environment.

One staff member, speaking anonymously, described the situation as “intimidating and deeply worrying,” especially given the purported involvement of individuals presenting themselves as state security operatives.

In response, the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator’s office has firmly denied any involvement or approval of the action.

Deputy Coordinator, Alhaji Nje Abdallah Umar, speaking to Citi News, clarified that the individuals did not act under the instruction or mandate of the Regional Security Council.

“These individuals were not acting on behalf of our office or with our sanction,” Alhaji Umar stated. “We are taking this matter seriously and are working with the Ghana Police Service to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.”
