Five students have reportedly sustained various degrees of injuries following a clash between Dabokpa Technical Institute and Vittin Technical Senior High School.
This was disclosed by Northern Regional Minister Adolf John Ali at the Northern Development Cause Forum in Tamale.
However, according to Chief Inspector Lukman Neindow, Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer, police reports indicated that only one student from Dabokpa Technical Institute was wounded and taken to the hospital.

He said the police were called in around 2:30 a.m. on July 19, 2025, regarding the clash between the two schools, adding that the command deployed officers to the scene.
Chief Inspector Neindow said the mode of the rioting involved students pelting stones at each other, noting that the cause of the clash is not yet known. Portions of the fence wall of Vittin Technical Senior High School have been destroyed.
He said the police have restored calm to the area, and a 24-hour police guard has been stationed between the two neighboring schools to prevent further attacks.
Chief Inspector Neindow said a search conducted in the dormitories of the two schools uncovered implements including scissors and machetes.
No arrests have been made. Police are reviewing footage of the incident, and the Regional Security Council (RESEG) is currently in a meeting.
