The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, has announced a record cash prize of GHC2 million for the winners of the upcoming 2025/26 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season.
The announcement was made during the 31st Ordinary Congress of the GFA, held on Tuesday at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram, where delegates gathered to deliberate on key matters ahead of the new season.
According to the President, the new prize structure is designed to reward excellence and boost competitiveness across the league. The top fifteen clubs will all receive financial rewards based on their final league positions, with significant sums allocated to the top finishers.
The runners-up will receive GHC1 million, third place will earn GHC800,000 and fourth place GHC750,000. The remaining positions from fifth to fifteenth will also benefit from substantial payouts, ensuring that clubs across the league are incentivized to push for higher finishes.
