TikTok star Grandma Mary died on New Year’s Eve at age 98. Her granddaughter, Pyxie, announced the news on social media.
Announcing the death, her grandaughter said “On New Year’s Eve, we said goodbye to Grandma,” Pyxie captioned a tribute video shared on TikTok. “She peacefully passed away in her sleep.”
“How lucky we are to have experienced her and her love,” Pyxie added. “She will always be with us.”
Grandma Mary was born to Armenian parents who arrived in America after fleeing genocide, according to TMZ. When she briefly moved back to Armenia, she started a family with her husband.
The couple, who had a son and daughter together, ran a gas station business in New Jersey for decades after returning to the United States in 1966, the outlet reported.
