Nigerian content creator and media personality Ashmusy has opened up about her decision to freeze her eggs, revealing that it has taken away the pressure of rushing into marriage out of fear of her biological clock.
Speaking during a recent podcast interview, the influencer, whose real name is Amarachi Amusi, said she still wants to get married someday but is no longer desperate to settle down just for the sake of having children.
According to Ashmusy, many women end up in unhappy marriages because they feel pressured to give birth before reaching a certain age.
She admitted that she almost made the same mistake by considering marriage with someone she knew was not right for her.
The social media star explained that freezing her eggs gave her peace of mind and reassurance about becoming a mother in the future, even if the right partner does not come immediately.“I want to get married, but I’m not desperate,” she said. “I almost married someone I knew wasn’t my ideal husband because I was scared of getting older without having children.”
Ashmusy added that she now feels more secure about her future and believes women should not feel forced into marriage because of societal expectations or age-related pressure.
She also disclosed that she may consider insemination in the future and expressed her desire to have mixed-race children someday.
Her comments have since sparked conversations online about fertility, egg freezing, marriage pressure, and modern relationships among young women.
