Ghanaian music duo DopeNation have earned international recognition after their hit single “Kakalika” was featured on Spotify’s 2026 Songs of Summer Predictions list.
The track was selected by Spotify’s global editorial team as one of 30 songs expected to shape the summer listening experience across the Northern Hemisphere.
It places the Ghanaian duo among globally known artists such as Tems, Drake, Ariana Grande, and Zara Larsson.
Spotify highlighted “Kakalika” as part of a rising wave of global dance music influencing current listening trends.
The platform noted its blend of Azonto-inspired rhythms and Amapiano elements, which has helped the song gain wide appeal among listeners.
This year’s Songs of Summer selection also reflects changing global music tastes, including nostalgic club sounds, pop variations, country influences, and international dance music trends.
Spotify has additionally introduced a voting feature, allowing users to choose which song they believe will become the defining anthem of the season.Listeners can vote directly through the playlist and share their picks across social media platforms, adding an interactive layer to the annual prediction list.
