Justice Senyo Dzamefe, one of seven new justices sworn into Ghana’s Supreme Court on Thursday, has on behalf of his colleague justices assured Ghanaians of the court’s unwavering commitment to justice.
Speaking on behalf of his fellow appointees after the swearing-in ceremony presided over by President John Dramani Mahama, Justice Dzamefe pledged that the new justices would serve without fear or favour.

“To the people of Ghana, we promise to dispense justice to all manner of persons—without fear, favour, ill will, or affection. We also promise equal justice under the law,” he said.
Justice Dzamefe also offered heartfelt appreciation to their families, particularly their spouses and children, for their unwavering support during their long journeys to the apex court.

“For some of us, the road to this moment has been exceptionally long. But our families never gave up on us. They continued to pray, support, and encourage us, believing that this day would come. And finally, it has,” he said.

Reflecting on the wait for elevation, he recalled the persistent questions from his children: “Daddy, how come your name hasn’t been on the list?” With gratitude, he added, “Today, that question is over. Our names are there now.”

Justice Dzamefe invoked divine guidance, saying, “We pray that the good Lord gives us the strength to carry out the responsibilities entrusted to us. May God bless our homeland Ghana and bless us all.”
