Allan Finnegan, the beloved comedian, Baptist minister, and former Britain’s Got Talent contestant, has passed away at the age of 59 after a long battle with a rare form of cancer.
Finnegan, who won the hearts of viewers during the 2020 season of Britain’s Got Talent with his witty stand-up comedy inspired by church life, died on June 19, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones.
His family shared the heartbreaking news in an emotional statement, describing him as an amazing husband, father, grandfather, son, minister, and comedian whose warmth, humor, and faith touched countless lives.
According to the family, Allan battled ocular melanoma, a rare eye cancer, for nearly five years. Despite facing immense challenges, he remained strong and determined throughout his illness.
They revealed that he spent his final moments peacefully with family by his side while Pink Floyd’s classic song “Wish You Were Here” played in the background. The family said it was both a heartbreaking and beautiful farewell, filled with love and treasured memories.
Finnegan first learned of his condition after experiencing vision problems. Doctors later discovered tumors in both of his eyes and diagnosed him with ocular melanoma. Although he initially received treatment, the cancer eventually spread and was later declared untreatable.
