Popular TikTok creator Mirabel Ehi Akugbe, widely known as Pepperbody, says her focus has shifted from chasing viral moments to creating content that leaves a lasting impact.
The 19-year-old recently opened up about her personal growth in a video shared on TikTok, explaining how her priorities have changed as she continues to grow as a digital creator.
According to Pepperbody, she no longer measures her value by social media numbers like views, likes, or follower count.”I don’t find my meaning in an app or in the following that I have on that app,” she said. “I believe I’m enough just as I am, so I’ll continue creating and sharing my videos with people.
“Known for her honest storytelling, spontaneous livestreams, and unfiltered personality, Pepperbody has built a loyal fan base that connects with both her humour and vulnerability. She believes much of that connection comes from being open about her life and experiences.”I cried on the internet and people related to it. I overshared about my life and people related to it,” she said.
Raised in Ikotun, Lagos State, Pepperbody described social media as a place where she can freely express herself without relying on validation from others. Her breakthrough came after a TikTok video responding to criticism about her skin colour went viral, introducing many people to her authentic and outspoken style.
Despite her growing popularity, Pepperbody believes that influence without purpose has little value.”Being an influencer is an empty want because you have to influence something,” she said. She explained that her goal now is to build a meaningful body of work rooted in authenticity, purpose, and genuine storytelling rather than chasing temporary internet trends. For Pepperbody, true success is no longer about going viral but about creating content that continues to inspire and connect with people over time.
