TikTok personality Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis, has responded angrily to a social media user identified as Ruth after her old and recent photos were compared online.
The controversy started after Ruth and some other users on X shared pictures of Jarvis, comparing her appearance in an older photo with a recent image taken during one of her livestreams.
Jarvis addressed the comparison in a video, questioning why the social media users were so interested in analysing her appearance.She also took a swipe at Ruth, jokingly questioning the name she bears while referencing the biblical Ruth.“Ruth, you’ll not go and marry; you are there comparing before and after,” Jarvis said.
The TikTok star also accused some X users of using her pictures to generate engagement and make money on the platform.
According to her, people constantly use her images and personal life to create content simply to attract attention online.“You people are using me to cash out on that Twitter app,” she said.Jarvis’ response has since attracted reactions online, with social media users sharing different opinions about the exchange.The incident adds to the growing conversations surrounding the way celebrities and influencers are often subjected to comparisons about their appearance, especially when old and recent pictures are posted online.
