Veteran Nollywood actress Bukky Wright has shared the emotional story behind her journey into acting, revealing that her career was inspired by the painful experience of being separated from her children at a young age.
Speaking during an interview, the actress explained that fame was never her goal when she joined the movie industry.
According to her, she simply wanted her children to one day be able to recognise her and know where to find her.“I actually started acting so that when my children grow up, they would at least know where to find me. I never really thought about becoming a star,” she said emotionally.
Bukky Wright also revealed that she lost access to her children after marrying into a wealthy family that doubted her future and looked down on her ambitions.“My children were taken from me when they were very young because I married into a very wealthy family, and they never believed I would become anything in life.
But today, here I am,” she said, drawing applause from the audience.Despite the painful experience, the actress has continued to build a successful career in Nollywood over the years.
In 2025, she celebrated a joyful milestone when her son, Eniola, got married to his partner, Sara Bonet.
