Phyna says supporting family with her bbnaija winnings is now her biggest regret
Reality TV star Phyna has revealed that one of her biggest regrets after winning Big Brother Naija was spending most of her prize money on family responsibilities instead of investing it wisely.
The BBNaija Season 7 winner opened up during a recent livestream, where she reflected on how being young and inexperienced affected the financial decisions she made after leaving the show.
According to Phyna, she focused heavily on helping family members, clearing debts, and providing support for relatives who constantly came to her for money.
She explained that at the time, she believed she was doing the right thing by assisting her loved ones, but now wishes she had received better financial guidance and invested more of the money instead.
The reality star also shared that none of the older people around her advised her properly on managing wealth or building long-term investments. Rather, she said many family members continued asking for financial help.
Phyna added that things reportedly became difficult when she started saying no to some requests, claiming that some relatives began complaining about her and even calling her out publicly whenever she couldn’t meet their demands.
She said she eventually realised that after the money was gone, she was left alone to face the consequences and financial reality by herself.
Phyna won BBNaija Season 7 in 2022 and received a ₦100 million prize package, which included cash and sponsored rewards.
