Trendupp Awards has officially opened nominations for its sixth edition, continuing its mission of recognising Africa’s most impactful influencers and content creators while introducing a brand-new category dedicated to streaming.
Since launching in 2021, the award platform has grown into one of Africa’s leading recognitions for digital creators, celebrating individuals who use social media to inspire, entertain, educate, and drive meaningful conversations.
Over the years, the initiative has recorded hundreds of thousands of nominations and honoured numerous creators across multiple categories.
Speaking on the new edition, Trendupp Africa founder and CEO, Tiwalola Olanubi, described the sixth edition as the beginning of a new chapter for the platform.
He noted that plans have been put in place to expand the awards’ reach and increase their impact across the African digital space.According to him, the awards remain committed to celebrating creators who consistently demonstrate creativity, engagement, and influence while pushing boundaries within the content creation industry.
One of the major highlights of this year’s edition is the introduction of the “Force of Streaming” category. The new category is designed to recognise creators who have built strong engagement and influence through live-streaming platforms, reflecting the growing importance of streaming in Africa’s digital ecosystem.Nominations are open across 18 categories, including Force of TikTok, Force of Lifestyle Content, Force of Creative Arts, Force of Instagram, Force of X, Force of Virality, Force of Online Sensation, Force of Food Content, Force of Comedy Skits, Force of YouTube, Force of Tech Content, Force of The Pod, Force of Social Good, Force of Wellness, Force of Streaming, Emerging Force, Force of Influence (Nigeria), and Force of Influence (International).The awards will recognise influencers and content creators who made significant impact between March 2025 and March 2026 through originality, consistency, audience engagement, and innovation.Fans are encouraged to nominate their favourite creators, while influencers and content creators can also submit nominations for themselves.
Maintaining its reputation for credibility and fairness, the Trendupp Awards will continue its no-voting system, with winners selected solely by an independent judging council made up of respected industry professionals.The sixth edition aims to further spotlight the creativity, talent, and growing influence of African digital creators on the global stage.
