Veteran Nollywood actress Omotunde Ogundimu has opened up about her ongoing battle with cervical cancer, making an emotional appeal for financial assistance as she continues treatment.The actress revealed that she was diagnosed with cervical cancer in 2024 after undergoing medical tests.
According to her, the illness has taken a heavy toll on both her health and finances, with her children spending all they had to support her treatment.
Speaking during an interview, Omotunde said she had tried to keep her condition private for as long as possible but eventually decided to speak out because she had run out of options.
She explained that she endures severe pain daily and now hopes that compassionate Nigerians will come to her aid so she can continue receiving medical care.The actress also shared her disappointment over feeling abandoned by some people in the movie industry.
She disclosed that despite spending over three decades in Nollywood, her efforts to seek support and movie roles from colleagues were largely unsuccessful.
In an emotional plea, Omotunde asked anyone she may have offended over the years to forgive her, saying she never intentionally hurt anyone. She expressed hope that reconciliation and kindness would help her through this difficult period.A widow since 2012, the actress said she has been raising her three children alone following the death of her husband.
She added that the financial burden of cancer treatment has made life even more challenging for her family.
Above all, Omotunde said her greatest desire is to recover from the illness and return to good health, while thanking those who have continued to stand by her during her fight.
