Vice President and Chair of the Ghana Armed Forces Council, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has prayed for comfort for the families of the eight people who died in last Wednesday’s helicopter crash.
She made the remarks after chairing an emergency meeting of the Council to address the tragic incident and other urgent matters affecting the Armed Forces.
Members of the Council, along with some government officials, later visited the home of the late Minister for Defence to offer support to his family.
Professor Opoku-Agyemang called for unity as the nation grieves and honours the memories of the departed.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved families and pray for strength, comfort, and peace during this period of national mourning,” she said.
