Bryan Acheampong reflects on profound national loss in tragic helicopter crash



Member of Parliament for Abetifi, Dr Bryan Acheampong, has described the sudden deaths of several senior officials and military personnel in a helicopter crash as a “profound loss, not only to our government but to the soul of our nation.”

In a heartfelt statement released on August 6, Dr Acheampong mourned the passing of key figures, including Minister of Defence Dr Edward Omane Boamah; Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed; Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Samuel Sarpong; Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator, Alhaji Muniru Mohammed; former parliamentary candidate Mr Samuel Aboagye; and military personnel Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Twum Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.

Dr Acheampong extended his sincere condolences to the bereaved families, colleagues, and the entire Ghanaian population mourning the loss.

“May their souls rest in peace,” he added.

The tragic accident, which occurred on Wednesday, August 6, near Sikaman in the Ashanti Region, has sent ripples of grief throughout the country.
