Defence Minister, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, has announced the withdrawal of military protection for civilians and public officials.
The move, according to the Defence Minister, forms part of the government’s reset agenda to restore discipline and accountability.
According to him, this decision was taken as a measure to halt the misuse of military personnel for personal gain.
Mr. Boamah further cautioned military personnel against flouting this new directive.
Any personnel caught embarking on unauthorised guard duties would face serious consequences.
“Let’s work together to promote a more disciplined and responsible use of our military resources,” he added.
