The Esports Association of Ghana (EAG) has officially been invited to compete in the Esports World Cup 2025, which will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from July 8 to August 24, 2025.
The Esports World Cup Foundation and the Saudi Esports Federation formally invited the Association’s President, Kwesi Hayford.
Ghana will send a two-person delegation to the tournament, which is set to attract around 2,000 top-tier players and 200 professional clubs fighting for a record $70 million prize fund.
The Esports World Cup is widely regarded as one of the most important and prestigious events in worldwide professional gaming.

Hayford hailed the invite as a “monumental step” for Ghanaian esports, acknowledging the progress achieved in creating a credible and regulated esports ecosystem.
HRH Prince Faisal bin Bandar Al Saud, Chairman of the Saudi Esports Federation, co-signed the invitation with Mr. Ralf Reichert, CEO of the Esports World Cup Foundation.
Esports Association Ghana has expressed its profound appreciation for the honour and reiterated its commitment to growing Ghana’s esports presence on a worldwide scale.
