GFA approves new Medical Regulations to enhance player health and welfare

The Ghana Football Association’s Executive Council has approved the Medical Regulation for the 2025/26 league season, aiming to enhance player health across all levels of football.

The key objectives of the Medical Regulations include:

• Improving Clinical Care and Governance: Setting standards for medical care and governance in football.

• Building a Nationwide Football Medicine Community: Fostering a community to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing.

• Conducting Impactful Research and Education: Facilitating research and education in football medicine.

• Promoting Equity and Diversity: Ensuring equal access to football medicine knowledge.

The Medical Committee, led by Dr. (Med) Abena Yeboaa Tannor will oversee the implementation and adherence to the regulation.

Copies of the regulation will be made available to clubs and published on the GFA website, aligning with the Association’s commitment to player welfare and adherence to global best practices in sports medicine.
