Ghana joins record-breaking 90+ nations in FIFAe 2025 championship quest

This year, the FIFAe ecosystem reaches new heights, with over 90 of FIFA’s Member Associations joining the Road to the FIFAe Finals across all three official competition titles — highlighting the expanding global footprint of football esports. The remarkable turnout follows FIFA’s wide-ranging invitation extended to Member Associations globally, reflecting their enthusiasm and growing commitment to football esports.

After 84 nations competed in the FIFAe ecosystem in 2022, this year’s number hits a new record and makes the FIFAe ecosystem one of the biggest national team-based esports competitions in the world. Its inclusive and global approach enables Member Associations worldwide on different football esport titles to identify the country’s best players to represent their national team. Only the top teams from each region will qualify for the final competitions:

  • FIFAe World Cup featuring eFootball on Mobile: 10 to 13 December, 12 participating nations

  • FIFAe World Cup featuring eFootball on Console: 10 to 13 December, 12 participating nations

  • FIFAe World Cup featuring Rocket League: 15 to 19 December, 16 participating nations

While nations are already kicking off their domestic activations, the Regional Online Qualifiers will take place in September and October. The top national teams will then join Saudi Arabia, the host nation, at the pinnacle event in December. More information can be found below, and all results will be published on FIFA.GG.

FIFA has reached out to all its Member Associations earlier this year, inviting them to participate in the respective competition titles. Each nation can decide which titles they wish to compete in. Every participating Member Association is responsible for selecting its players to represent them in the Regional Online Qualifiers.

Qualification slots for the respective Regional Online Qualifiers are allocated based on a variety of factors, including regional competitiveness, game popularity and availability, the number of participating Member Associations, and server infrastructure and connectivity. Regions will be announced soon.

In the FIFAe World Cup 2025 featuring eFootbal Mobile, nations are represented by a single player competing in 1v1 matchups through a group stage and single elimination knockout format from 10 to 13 December. Before reaching this stage, players will first challenge each other through Regional Online Qualifiers from 2 to 12 October.
