Helicopter crash: NPP leadership visits NDC to offer condolences

Leaders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have visited the headquarters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to express sympathy following the August 6 helicopter crash, which claimed the lives of eight individuals, including five NDC members.

The NPP delegation included the party’s General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua, and National Organiser, Henry Nana Boakye, among others.

Speaking during the visit, Mr Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, said the tragedy had touched the entire nation, not just the NDC.

“We are one family, and when something happens to the NDC, it affects us too. So if you see NPP leaders here today, it is because this tragedy has befallen not just the NDC, but the entire nation. We are here in solidarity, and we offer our deepest condolences,” he said.

NDC National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, thanked the NPP for showing compassion in such a difficult moment. He noted that although most of the victims were NDC officials, they were first and foremost citizens of Ghana.

He thanked the NPP for their show of compassion, stressing that the loss was a national one and should not be politicised.

“Your presence here is a testament that this issue goes beyond party lines and should not be politicised. Personally, after the incident, I received numerous calls from the NPP leadership, both current and former, including former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.”

“Though this is a tragedy that has befallen us all, it also presents an opportunity for unity. And your presence here is a sign of the love we share as Ghanaians,” he said.
