The Ministry of Health has inaugurated Dr. (Med) Hintermann K. K. Mbroh is the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ho Teaching Hospital, alongside an eleven-member Governing Board tasked with strengthening the hospital’s strategic direction and governance.

The official ceremony took place on June 16, 2025, in Accra and was attended by senior officials from the Ministry.

The appointment marks a pivotal step in advancing Ho Teaching Hospital’s transformation into a premier centre of excellence in clinical care, medical training, and research in Ghana.

Dr. Mbroh, a seasoned medical professional with an extensive background in clinical practice, hospital management, and healthcare systems development, takes over leadership with a clear focus on operational efficiency, innovation, and institutional growth.

In his remarks at the inauguration, Dr. Mbroh expressed deep appreciation for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work collaboratively with hospital staff, the new board, and stakeholders to enhance service delivery and drive institutional development.

“I am honoured to be entrusted with this role,” he stated. “Ho Teaching Hospital plays a vital role in Ghana’s healthcare system, and I am committed to advancing its mission through strategic leadership, innovation, and a patient-centred approach.”

He further emphasized a renewed commitment to the hospital’s core values—Commitment, accountability, dedication, innovation, professionalism, integrity, teamwork, and safe Care—aimed at reconnecting and realigning the institution with its foundational vision.

The newly sworn-in Governing Board, chaired by Dr. Delanyo Yao Tsidi Dovlo brings together professionals from a range of sectors, including medicine, academia, finance, and law. The Board is expected to provide strong oversight and policy direction aligned with the Ministry of Health’s national healthcare agenda.

The Ministry praised the outgoing leadership for their service and reaffirmed its support for Ho Teaching Hospital. It also reiterated its commitment to providing the necessary resources to enable the facility to thrive as a centre of clinical excellence and innovation.
