Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has dismissed claims that fellow musicians deliberately attack Shatta Wale, insisting that no Ghanaian artiste, including himself, initiates unprovoked criticism against the outspoken musician.
Speaking in an interview with Headless YouTuber monitored by MyNewsGh, Stonebwoy questioned the long-standing narrative that Shatta Wale is constantly being targeted by his peers.
“Which artist attacks Shatta Wale? Who wakes up in the morning, unprovoked, picks a camera and starts talking about Shatta Wale?” he asked. “I don’t think there’s anybody.”
According to Stonebwoy, any public comment made by artistes about Shatta Wale is usually in response to something he has already said.
“Should anybody say anything, it will be like a response to what he has said,” he explained. “So I tell you for free, no human being is attacking Shatta Wale, not me.”
He challenged critics to point out any instance where he had spoken about Shatta Wale without provocation.
“Point at one interview where I’ve gone unprovoked, where I’m not replying to something that has already been said, and say I’m causing a rift or beef,” Stonebwoy stated. “I don’t think any artiste does that.”
The BHIM Nation leader said he believes some people create conflicts for themselves by constantly perceiving attacks where none exist.
“I can confidently tell you every day, every time, that some people are their own enemies,” he said. “Some people are going through so much that they always feel others are against them.”
Stonebwoy then posed another question to underline his point, asking which one artiste consistently speaks about others.
“Who is that one artiste that always speaks about other people, has spoken about everybody, and has disrespected every human being because he believes everyone is doing something against him?” he asked.
When the interviewer mentioned “Achi Palagu,” a nickname often associated with Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy acknowledged it lightly, saying, “You see what I’m saying? Palagu, Mufasa, shout out to you.”
