Kumasi’s Pure FM goes off air after overnight inferno

One of Kumasi’s popular radio stations, Pure FM, has gone off air after a fierce overnight fire destroyed its studio equipment.

According to eyewitnesses, the late Wednesday night fire took over three hours to bring under control.

Authorities confirmed that no injuries were recorded.

Kwame Adinkra, the station’s Morning Show host, confirmed the incident in a social media post after the fire was extinguished.

“I’m completely exhausted. We’ve just spent over three intense hours battling the fire that broke out at Pure FM studios. Thankfully, we managed to save the building, but we lost all our studio equipment. We’ll be off air temporarily—but we shall rise again,” he said.

The cause of the fire has not yet been established.

Pure FM is a member of the Angel Broadcasting Network.
