
A solemn burial ceremony for the former Minister for Environment Dr Ibrahim Muhammed Murtala and former Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Alhaji Muniru Limuna Mohammed is underway at the forecourt of the State House.
The two officials were among eight people who died when a Ghana Air Force helicopter crashed in the Adansi-Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region.
The national tragedy has prompted a wave of mourning, with tributes pouring in from across the country.
Today’s burial rites are expected to draw a host of high-profile dignitaries, including President John Mahama, the Vice President, the Speaker of Parliament, and the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
