The Methodist Church Ghana has conveyed their condolences following the military helicopter crash that claimed eight lives.
In a statement, the Church extended its sympathies to President John Dramani Mahama, the government, the bereaved families, and the entire nation.
Signed by the Presiding Bishop, Most Rev. Prof. J. Kwabena Asamoah-Gyadu, the church described the disaster as a national tragedy and a reminder of life’s fragility. It encouraged Ghanaians to seek strength in their faith.
Quoting Psalm 46:1, the Bishop noted, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” He added, “Though we mourn, we do so with hope.”
The Church assured families of its prayers and urged the country to use this moment for unity and reflection, honouring the memory of those lost through a renewed spirit of national solidarity.
“May this loss draw us together as a people and lead us to entrust the souls of the departed into God’s eternal rest,” the Bishop said.
The Methodist Church now joins the growing number of institutions and citizens grieving the victims, as the nation awaits the outcome of investigations into the cause of the crash.
