Mohammed Kudus can be a real asset for Tottenham – Glenn Hoddle

Former Tottenham manager Glenn Hoddle believes Mohammed Kudus can be a real asset for Spurs if he keeps his head up when dribbling.

The former England international made the remarks during the 2025 UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday night in Italy, where Spurs surrendered a 2-0 lead before losing on penalties.

Kudus remained a threat for the Parisians until he was substituted in the 79th minute, with PSG scoring twice in the 85th and 94th minutes to take the game to penalties.

The 25-year-old created the most chances (3) and completed the most dribbles (2) in the match.

“He’s got such good talent, such quick feet, and you can see his qualities there. The added ingredient for him as a player is consistency,” Hoddle said on TNT Sports.

“A lot of my West Ham fans, and I have quite a lot, have said to me, “Thank you for taking him, Glenn.” So I don’t know about that. The first year, I thought he was excellent. The second year, they’re telling me he didn’t do so well. But he looks like he’s got a lot of potential, I’ve got to say.

“Sometimes, I look at dribblers and I like what they do, but can they dribble and play with their head up? That is the key for me. Can he also play with his head up? That’s the next progression for him. And I think if he does, he could be a real asset for Tottenham.”

Mohammed Kudus joined Tottenham from West Ham in the summer for €63.8 million after two seasons at the London Stadium.
