The National House of Chiefs has expressed deep sorrow over the death of government officials and military personnel in Wednesday’s helicopter crash in the Ashanti Region, describing the incident as a profound national tragedy.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the House extended condolences to the government, the Ghana Armed Forces, the National Democratic Congress, and the families of all eight victims.
“Their immense sacrifices, loyalty, commitment and unwavering dedication to public service will not be forgotten,” the statement read.
The House called on government agencies, private entities, the diplomatic community, traditional leaders, religious groups and individuals to offer appropriate support to the affected families.
“Words cannot take the pains of their families away, but we hope they will find comfort in God Almighty,” it said.
