WAFCON 2024: We need to ‘not be scared’ against Algeria – Black Queens coach

Black Queens head coach Kim Lars Björkegren has praised Algeria as the best-organized team at the ongoing Women’s Africa Cup of Nations but cautions his side “to not be scared” in their quarter-final clash.

Ghana take on the North Africans on July 19 for a spot in the last four.

Algeria are unbeaten and have not conceded a goal so far in the tournament.

“The Algeria team is very organized; maybe the best organized team in this tournament,” Björkegren said.

“It is going to be a difficult game for us for sure. We need to do our things, keep building.

“We need to not be scared out there but see things in the opposite way, that we actually have a great chance to go to the next round.”

The Queens are also eyeing a semi-final berth for the first time since 2016.

Ghana will hold their final training session on Friday ahead of the highly anticipated game on Saturday.
