We will work to leave a legacy in the road sector – Agbodza

Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, stated that the President John Mahama-led government is working hard to leave a legacy in the country’s road sector.

He noted that the government is privy to the bad nature of roads in the country and would work assiduously to fix them.

Mr. Agbodza stated this when he met the chiefs and people of Adaklu Kodzobi as part of his thank-you tour of the Adaklu Constituency on Friday, July 4.

He said the government would not put Ghanaians to shame.

Mr. Agbodza, who is also the Member of Parliament for Adaklu, disclosed that work would soon begin on the Atimpoku through Ho to Aflao road, adding “that road will be asphalted.”

He said some roads in the Adaklu district, including the Adaklu Abuadi to Adaklu Kordiabe and the Ho Mirage to Adaklu Kodzobi roads, would also be constructed.

“The Ho Mirage Road, which is an urban road, will be asphalted,” he assured the people.

The Minister was full of praise for the people for the massive support they demonstrated for him and President Mahama in the 2024 general election.

He assured that “Government is working hard to bring the smiles back to the faces of Ghanaians by making the cost of living affordable and meaningful to them.

Mr. Agbodza noted that all the promises contained in the party’s manifesto, which attracted the people to vote for them, would be honoured.

He said the government was also working to reduce the unemployment rate in the country by creating job opportunities for the youth.

The Minister entreated the youth in Adaklu to take their education seriously, adding that the surest way to a meaningful life was through education.

“We don’t have any mineral deposits in Adaklu, so let us build our human resources through education to enable us to compete even at the international level,” he posited.

Togbe Dzegblade IV, Chief of the community, called on the Minister to work assiduously to improve the road network in the country and Adaklu in particular.

The people presented a Kente cloth each to Mr. Agbodza and his wife.

A citation was also presented to him for his meritorious services to the country, the NDC, and Adaklu.

The Adaklu Kodzobi branch of the NDC also presented a smock each to Mr. Agbodza and Mr. Jerry Ameko, Adaklu District Chief Executive and Dean of Volta DCEs.

They thanked the people for recognising their contributions to them, adding that it also demonstrated their show of love for them.

Mr. Agbodza was accompanied by Mr. Ameko and Constituency executives of the NDC.
