Social media personality Abdul Gafaru Sani, popularly known as Webkid or WebkidAfrika, has been granted bail of GH¢100,000 by the Accra High Court after spending more than six weeks in custody.
Webkid was arrested on May 7, 2026, over allegations that he shared false and offensive content online targeting Ghanaian dancehall star Stonebwoy and members of his family.
The case has since attracted widespread public attention, especially within the entertainment industry.Initially facing four charges, the number of counts against him later increased to six as investigations progressed.
Prosecutors claim that content posted on his X account contained false information capable of causing fear, panic, and public disorder.Court records identify Stonebwoy, born Livingstone Etse Satekla, as the complainant in the case.
This has generated discussion among fans, particularly after earlier comments from members of the musician’s camp suggested otherwise.
Webkid’s legal team confirmed that the matter remains before the court. A previous hearing scheduled for June 18 was postponed after the presiding judge was unavailable, leading to the case being adjourned to June 22.
One of the biggest talking points during the latest court appearance was the presence of fellow dancehall star Shatta Wale, who showed up in support of Webkid. His arrival drew large crowds of fans and bloggers, creating a buzz outside the courthouse.
Dressed in a teal Nike tracksuit, dark sunglasses, and a face mask, Shatta Wale’s appearance highlighted the growing public interest surrounding the case.With bail now granted, attention will shift to the next stage of the legal proceedings as both sides prepare to continue the battle in court.
