Socialite and businessman Cubana Chief Priest has lost the APC primary election for the Orsu/Orlu/Oru East federal constituency seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The celebrity businessman, whose real name is Pascal Okechukwu, contested for the party’s ticket but was defeated by the current lawmaker representing the constituency, Canice Moore Nwachukwu.
Nwachukwu, who is currently serving his second term in the House of Representatives, secured victory in the party primary, ending Cubana Chief Priest’s bid to fly the APC flag in the upcoming election.Before the primary election, Cubana Chief Priest had openly shown strong support for President Bola Tinubu and the ruling APC. He was also appointed as the Imo State director of the City Boy Movement, a political support group mobilising young Nigerians ahead of Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
Despite his popularity and influence on social media, the businessman could not secure enough support to clinch the ticket.
