“The Psychiatric Hospital Made Me Feel Worse” — Funny Face Opens Up About His Experience

Ghanaian comedian Funny Face has opened up about his stay at a psychiatric hospital, revealing that the experience left him feeling even more mentally overwhelmed.

Speaking during an interview, the comedian shared that adapting to life inside the facility was difficult and emotionally draining. According to him, he often had to behave like other patients just to connect with them and earn their trust.

Funny Face explained that many patients became uncomfortable around anyone they felt was acting “normal,” so he tried blending into their world to make communication easier.

Recalling one unusual moment, the comedian said a patient once invited him to eat imaginary fufu even though there was nothing there.

To avoid making the man uncomfortable, he played along and pretended to eat with him.According to Funny Face, the nurses later began to see him as mentally unstable because of how he interacted with the patients.Despite the misunderstanding, he insisted that his actions were never meant to deceive anyone but were simply his way of surviving the environment and creating a sense of comfort around others in the facility.

The comedian added that while some patients shared painful stories about their lives, others surprisingly offered advice and moments of clarity that stayed with him long after leaving the hospital.
