Nigeria’s entertainment industry came together on Wednesday to honour the memory of late actor Alex Ekubo during a heartfelt service of songs held in his honour.
The ceremony attracted a large gathering of colleagues, friends, and dignitaries who filled The Monarch Event Centre, dressed entirely in white in line with the wishes of the Ekubo family.
Among those in attendance were prominent figures in the entertainment industry, including Funke Akindele, Kate Henshaw, Chioma Akpotha, Ebele Okaro, Nancy Isime, Ruth Kadiri, Nkechi Blessing, Stan Nze, Blessing Obasi, IK Ogbonna, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, singer Chike, and Cubana Chief Priest.The evening featured moments of worship and reflection, led by gospel ministers Peterson Okopi and Ebuka Songs.
Pastor Jerry Eze, Nathaniel Bassey, and Kaestrings also ministered during the service, creating an atmosphere of faith, comfort, and remembrance.
Earlier, the Ekubo family released an obituary through the actor’s Instagram page, expressing gratitude for the support received and asking the public to continue keeping the family in their prayers during this difficult time.The service of songs officially marked the beginning of the actor’s burial rites. Activities will continue in Abia State with a wake-keep scheduled for June 17, while the burial ceremony is set to take place on June 18.Friends, fans, and loved ones continue to celebrate Alex Ekubo’s life, legacy, and contributions to the Nigerian entertainment industry.
