Popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has strongly warned TikTok users against sharing fake death posts about her online.
The actress reacted after several social media users allegedly circulated her photos with “RIP” captions, sparking concern among fans and followers.
Speaking in a video shared on Snapchat, Toyin made it clear that she would not tolerate such behaviour and warned those responsible to immediately take the posts down.
According to her, the trend has gained attention online, but she is prepared to take action against anyone caught spreading the false information.“You on TikTok posting my pictures and writing RIP, if I catch you, I won’t listen to anybody begging for you. Go and delete it and stop.
Everybody is seeing it now. I shall not die,” she said.
Her reaction has since sparked conversations online, with many fans condemning the growing trend of using fake celebrity death announcements for attention and engagement on social media.The actress also received support from followers who described the posts as insensitive and dangerous.
