Nigerian chef and restaurateur Hilda Baci has been recognised as a Guinness World Records ICON, a prestigious honour celebrating her impact on the culinary world and her inspiring journey to success.
Hilda’s love for food began at an early age while helping at her mother’s restaurant in Abuja during primary school.
Known for her sharp memory and confidence, she quickly became a favourite among customers.
Although she studied sociology and explored different career paths, including television hosting and acting, her passion for cooking eventually led her back to the kitchen.
In 2020, she became a professional chef and launched her restaurant, Hilda’s Kitchen, now known as My Food by Hilda.Through her engaging recipes, cooking tips and vibrant online presence, Hilda built a loyal following that has grown into millions across social media platforms.

Her global fame soared in 2023 when she completed a 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon in Lagos.

While her cooking marathon record has since been surpassed, Hilda’s accomplishment remains one of the most celebrated moments in modern culinary history and inspired a new generation of African chefs.In 2025, she added another milestone to her name by helping create the world’s largest serving of rice in Lagos.
The record-breaking dish weighed an incredible 8,780 kilograms and was prepared using thousands of kilograms of rice, meat and spices. After the event, more than 16,600 portions were distributed, ensuring that no food went to waste.
