Nigerian music superstar Davido has officially announced that his highly anticipated sixth studio album, ‘ORIADE,’ will be released on July 31, 2026.The singer unveiled the release date through a cinematic social media teaser in which he appeared in regal Yoruba attire.
The video, accompanied by a powerful Yoruba eulogy, reflected the royal theme behind the album’s title. Alongside the clip, Davido wrote, “The kingdom expands. Chosen long before the throne.”‘ORIADE’ marks Davido’s sixth studio album and seventh major project since rising to fame more than a decade ago.
The title, which translates to “the crowned head” or “the king,” pays tribute to both his royal heritage and his remarkable influence in African music.Born into the renowned Adeleke family of Ede, Osun State, Davido has often embraced his cultural roots while building one of the most successful careers in Afrobeats.
Naming the album ‘ORIADE’ further highlights the connection between his family legacy and his status as one of Africa’s biggest music stars.Ahead of the album announcement, Davido released his first single of 2026, ‘I Know Who I Be,’ featuring South African artists JAZZWRLD and GL Ceejay. The track continues his exploration of South Africa’s growing three-step sound, following the success of his previous collaboration, ‘Nakupenda.’Fans are now eagerly awaiting the official tracklist and guest features, which are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
Earlier this year, Davido hinted that the project would focus on celebrating Nigerian and African music, suggesting the album will strongly embrace the continent’s rich musical identity.
With ‘ORIADE,’ the award-winning singer hopes to build on the massive success of his previous album, ‘5ive,’ which produced the hit single ‘With You’ and supported a successful run of sold-out performances across Nigeria and other parts of the world.
