Nigerian businessman Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as B-Lord, has encouraged singles to avoid rushing into marriage, urging them to prioritize emotional and financial stability before making such a lifelong commitment.
Speaking during a recent podcast interview, B-Lord said many young people feel pressured by society and their peers to get married before they are truly ready. He stressed that marriage should never be seen as a race or a measure of personal success.
According to him, choosing the right life partner requires patience and careful consideration. He also advised men to treat women with respect, reminding them that the way they treat other people’s daughters could one day be reflected in how others treat their own daughters.
Likewise, he encouraged women to treat men with the same respect they would want shown to their future sons.B-Lord emphasized that marriage is not an achievement and warned that entering it for the wrong reasons often leads to regret. He noted that ending a marriage can be difficult, especially when children are involved, making it even more important to make thoughtful decisions from the start. He concluded by encouraging young people to ignore societal pressure, take their time, and only marry when they are confident they have found the right partner.
