Nigerian businessman and socialite Cubana Chief Priest has opened up about his public fallout with Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy, claiming the clash was connected to his close friendship with Davido.
Speaking during an interview on The Beat 99.9 FM, Cubana Chief Priest said success often comes with jealousy, criticism, and unnecessary attacks.
According to him, his rise to fame and wealth came from years of hard work, learning through apprenticeship, and staying committed to growth.
“Success comes with a lot of hate,” he said, explaining that people’s attitudes changed toward him as he became more successful.
The nightlife entrepreneur claimed Burna Boy publicly targeted him online by making statements aimed at discrediting his wealth and achievements.
“I was on my own and Burna Boy came for me, went on his big platform and started tweeting things that are not genuine,” he said.
Cubana Chief Priest added that he believed the attacks happened because of his strong relationship with Davido, whom he described as someone who has consistently supported him and his businesses over the years.
He revealed that Davido has played a major role in supporting his clubs, restaurants, and other personal projects, always showing up for him whenever needed.
The socialite also hinted at expanding into music, saying he is currently working on music projects to prove he can succeed in that space as well.
The relationship between Burna Boy and Cubana Chief Priest has attracted attention online in recent years, especially due to social media exchanges and perceived rivalry linked to Davido’s close circle.
