Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has spoken out about what he describes as the harsh reality of the music industry, calling out the lack of support among artists.
The rapper, whose real name is Emeka Akumefule, shared his frustration after releasing his latest song, “Chanel.”
According to him, many of his fellow artists failed to support or promote the track despite the support he regularly gives them whenever they release music.
Taking to X, Blaqbonez expressed disappointment over what he called “double standards” in the industry.“I think this music industry is very wicked because since I dropped Chanel, none of my peers have posted it,” he wrote.
He also mentioned international stars he had previously supported online, including Drake, Central Cee, Future, and Gunna.
Blaqbonez added that despite always showing love when others drop new music, he often gets silence in return, even when he believes he has released a major hit.
This isn’t the first time the rapper has publicly criticised the music industry. Back in 2023, he accused some artists of using streaming farms to artificially boost music streams and manipulate charts in Nigeria.
Although his claims were dismissed by top figures including Don Jazzy and Odumodublvck, Blaqbonez stood by his statements, insisting that stream farming exists and has caused serious damage to the Nigerian music scene.
Over the years, the rapper has remained one of the most outspoken voices in Nigerian hip-hop, often sharing strong opinions about competition, support, and industry politics.
