The music industry is mourning the loss of Grammy-nominated producer Tay Keith, who has died at the age of 29.
The producer, whose real name was Brytavious Chambers, was found dead in his apartment in Nashville, Tennessee, after authorities conducted a welfare check.
Officials have stated that no foul play is suspected, and the cause of death remains unknown pending further examination.
Tay Keith was one of the most influential producers in modern hip-hop, helping shape some of the genre’s biggest hits over the past decade. He was best known for producing Travis Scott’s chart-topping hit Sicko Mode and Drake’s Nonstop, tracks that cemented his place among music’s elite producers.
Throughout his career, Keith collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry, including Beyoncé, Eminem, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, Future, J. Cole, 21 Savage, Jack Harlow, Doja Cat, and Sexyy Red.His work earned him multiple Grammy nominations, including recognition for Sicko Mode and later for his contribution to Drake and 21 Savage’s Rich Flex.
Most recently, he worked on projects for Megan Thee Stallion, Travis Scott, and Jack Harlow.Following news of his passing, tributes poured in from fellow artists and friends. Rapper BlocBoy JB, who frequently collaborated with Keith, shared emotional messages on social media, expressing heartbreak over the loss and revealing that the pair spoke almost every day.Beyond his success in the studio, Keith was also an entrepreneur.
He co-founded Drumatized Music Group in Memphis alongside his longtime manager, helping support and develop emerging talent.
