Actress and television presenter Lisa Faulkner has shared encouraging news with fans, revealing that she is now cancer-free after undergoing surgery for breast cancer.
The 54-year-old disclosed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer at a very early stage and underwent a major operation two weeks ago. Following the procedure, doctors confirmed that all of the cancer had been successfully removed.
While she still has some healing to do, Faulkner said she is feeling much better and will begin a course of radiotherapy in the coming weeks as part of her recovery.She also used her experience to encourage women to attend routine breast screening appointments, stressing that her cancer was only discovered because she went for a mammogram.
According to Faulkner, the disease may not have been detected so early without the screening.Expressing her gratitude, she thanked healthcare workers for their care and highlighted the importance of early detection in improving treatment outcomes.
Known for her acting roles in EastEnders, Holby City, and Spooks, Faulkner has also built a successful career as a television presenter and food writer. She is married to chef John Torode, with whom she previously co-hosted the cooking programme John & Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen.Following her announcement, fans and fellow celebrities flooded her with messages of love and support, wishing her a smooth recovery as she continues her treatment.
