Police in Elmina have declared self-style prophet Ebo Noah wanted after a Liberian national travelled to Ghana allegedly acting on his viral prophecy predicting a global flood, MyNewsGh.com can authoritatively confirm.

Police sources told MyNewsGh.com. that the Elmina District Commander, Chief Superintendent Abraham Bansah, had earlier on December 18th 2025 tasked a team led by Police Assistant Superintendents Lawrence Anane and Augustina Quainoo to locate and arrest Ebo Noah for interrogation. The operation did not succeed as he was elusive and his whereabouts unknown then.

The police team visited the homes of Ebo Noah’s parents, but his whereabouts still remain unknown. His parents were questioned as well as neighbours familiar with the life of the new social Media sensation, Ebo Noah.

The police have since launched a fresh manhunt following an incident of December 25, 2025, at about 7:40 p.m., when a radio presenter with Benya FM, identified as Sofo Blessing, came to the police station with one Paul Telly Jalloh, a citizen of Liberia.

Telly Jalloh was brought to the Elmina District Police Headquarters after he travelled from Liberia to join Ebo Noah’s ark.

According to police, Jalloh reported that he had travelled to Elmina after reading social media posts attributed to prophet Ebo Noah, who allegedly claimed that a worldwide flood would occur on December 25 and that safety could only be found by joining an “ark” in Elmina or Takoradi.

Local residents familiar with Ebo Noah told police that he is a native of Elmina but disputed claims that he is a prophet or that he owns any form of “ark.”

During interrogation, Jalloh told police he first encountered the prophecy through social media and international news platforms, including CNN and the BBC, as early as June 8, 2025. He said he initially travelled to Takoradi, then moved through Accra and Cape Coast, before finally arriving at Elmina Beach in search of the purported ark. He later learned that no such ark existed.

Following the interview, the Komenda-Edina-Eguafo-Abrem (KEEA) Immigration Department was notified. Immigration officials have since profiled Jalloh and begun arrangements to repatriate him to Liberia to reunite with his family. He remains in police custody pending the completion of the process.

Police say investigations into the alleged prophecy and the whereabouts of Ebo Noah are ongoing an dis led by Chief Inspector Jonas Soleeand further updates will be communicated as developments unfold.

Plastic Surgery Claims: Florence Obinim curses critics

Florence Obinim has once again reacted to speculations surrounding her recent physical transformation, issuing a stern warning to critics and social media commentators who have accused her of undergoing plastic surgery.

In a video that has since circulated widely online sighted by MyNewsh, the wife of International God’s Way Church founder, Bishop Daniel Obinim, rejected the claims and cursed against those spreading the allegations.

“If it is true that I have undergone surgery and that is why I look like this, then may the heavens deal with me,” she said while holding anointing oil. “But if it is not true that I have had plastic surgery, as you people are spreading on social media, then may the heavens deal with you.”

Her statement escalated into a direct curse aimed at those perpetuating the rumours. “May you run into inescapable problems and face imprisonment as repercussions for all the things you keep saying about me because of my transformation,” she added.

Florence Obinim’s remarks come amid sustained online debate about her appearance, with her transformation dominating conversations across multiple platforms. While some users have framed the discussion as harmless curiosity, others have raised concerns about the tone and intensity of the scrutiny directed at her.

Ghanaian blogger and journalist Stephen Adjetey Abban has weighed in on the issue, urging the public to exercise restraint. He acknowledged that Florence Obinim’s status naturally draws attention but warned against overstepping boundaries.

“As a public figure, being the wife of one of the most controversial pastors in West Africa, her appearance naturally attracts scrutiny,” Adjetey Abban said. However, he cautioned that such attention can easily become intrusive.

“The intense focus on why she looks the way she does raises concerns. Such inquiries, often framed as curiosity, cross into personal territory,” he noted.

Adjetey Abban further pointed out that there could be multiple explanations behind Obinim’s transformation, none of which warrant public interrogation. “I think there may be underlying health, personal, or it may simply be a deliberate personal choice. And that’s where we should not cross the line by respecting her CHOICE!” he said.

He concluded by stressing that speculation adds little value to public discourse. “Either way, the speculation is unnecessary.”

The organisation recalled that the visit helped strengthen ties between Joshua’s team and the local boxing community.

Two of Joshua’s close associates, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele, were killed when the vehicle they were travelling in collided with a stationary truck in Ogun State. Joshua, who was a passenger, sustained injuries and was hospitalised.

President John Dramani Mahama has signed the Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASP) Bill into law.

The legislation formally brings cryptocurrencies and other digital assets under a structured legal framework.

Deputy Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Mensah Thompson, announced the development on Facebook, noting Parliament’s approval after thorough deliberations.

“The Bill legalizes the usage, trading, and provision of services in the virtual assets space,” he wrote, praising stakeholders, including the President, Finance Minister, Bank of Ghana Governor, and SEC leadership, for their roles in advancing the legislation.

The new law mandates the SEC and the Bank of Ghana to supervise virtual asset service providers, ensuring operations adhere to a clear regulatory framework.

Key market operators and exchanges also contributed technically, supporting the effort to modernize Ghana’s financial ecosystem.

Thompson emphasized the collaboration across political lines and the engagement of stakeholders, highlighting that the law positions Ghana alongside global financial trends while promoting financial inclusion.

Activities in the digital asset space that were previously unregulated, such as trading and investment services, will now operate under legal oversight, enhancing investor confidence.

Creative work must have a price

[ad_1]

Filmmaker and creative industry critic Socrate Safo has called for an immediate shift away from free access models in Ghana’s creative sector, arguing that the persistent erosion of pricing discipline is weakening the entire market.

According to Safo, the industry’s central problem is no longer a lack of ideas or diagnosis, but a failure to take decisive corrective action.

“The problems are known. The patterns are visible. What remains is action, backed by law, discipline, and collective restraint,” he stated in social media post sighted by MyNewsGh.

Safo argued that free distribution, once an exception, has become the foundation of the creative economy, with damaging consequences for artists, promoters, and investors.

“Creative work has a price,” he said. “Free distribution must return to its rightful place as an exception, not the foundation of the market.”

He criticised the growing practice of hosting concerts, film premieres, and major creative events without paid entry simply because sponsorship has been secured.

“Sponsorship was never meant to erase value,” Safo noted. “It was meant to support it.”

He maintained that even a modest ticket fee reinforces the idea that creative labour carries economic worth and trains audiences to participate in sustaining the industry.

“Without this discipline, the industry continues to train its audience out of the habit of supporting it,” he added.

Copyright law cannot remain theoretical

[ad_1]

Socrate Safo has faulted regulatory institutions in Ghana’s creative sector for failing to enforce existing laws, warning that admiration for regulation without action is accelerating market decline.

“Ghana’s statutory laws already provide a framework for protection,” Safo stated. “What is missing is enforcement.”

He called on the Copyright Office of Ghana to move beyond advocacy and take up its regulatory mandate, particularly in relation to digital platforms operating within the country.

“Copyright law cannot remain theoretical while markets collapse in practice,” he said, advocating for mandatory licensing regimes and penalties for unregulated mass free distribution.

Safo also addressed the role of collective management organisations, especially GHAMRO, insisting that public performance of music must always attract royalties, regardless of whether an event is ticketed or sponsor-funded.

“Music used in public spaces is not a donation,” he stressed. “It is intellectual property.”

He argued that royalties should be calculated based on verified playlists provided by performers, and that enforcement must apply across concerts, festivals, and corporate-sponsored events.

Safo warned that regulatory inaction has created a system where creative rights exist only on paper, leaving rights holders unprotected and revenue streams unstable.

“Regulation must be enforced, not admired,” he concluded.

Prophet Roja predicts chaos and chief’s death in 2026

[ad_1]

Ghanaian cleric Samuel Henry, popularly known as Prophet Roja has prophesied that a chief in Ghana would die in 2026.

Speaking in an interview on Nhyira FM, Prophet Roja said the prophecy points to confusion during the selection of a chief in a yet-to-be-identified kingdom, followed by the death of the person eventually installed.

“In a certain kingdom, there will be a vacancy for a chief to sit on the throne. There will be a lot of chaos but despite all the confusion, someone will be installed as chief,” he stated.

According to him, the matter will not end with the installation, as the individual will be unable to complete his reign.

“However, the chief will not be able to complete his tenure. The person will die and they will have to find another person to replace him after his death,” Prophet Roja added.

The cleric did not disclose the specific traditional area or region the prophecy relates to, but maintained that the events would unfold within the year 2026.

Creative industry needs law, not sympathy

[ad_1]

Socrate Safo has called on government and industry leadership to prioritise long-term market protection over symbolic support, warning that investor confidence in Ghana’s creative sector is at risk.

“The Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture must move beyond symbolic support,” Safo said in Facebook post sighted by MyNewsGh, arguing that public funding and government-backed sponsorships should be tied to measurable sustainability outcomes.

He proposed the introduction of a Creative Market Protection Policy, backed by legislation, to set minimum pricing standards, regulate free access, and protect investor interests across the sector.

“Government intervention should build markets, not replace them,” Safo stated.

Drawing lessons from the decline of Ghana’s film industry, Safo pointed to unregulated free access as a key factor in the collapse of revenue and investor participation.

“Once free access became the norm, revenue vanished, investors disappeared, and production slowed,” he said.

He also emphasised the need for transparent revenue reporting, standardised investment agreements, and enforceable penalties for misrepresentation.

“Investors do not abandon industries out of spite,” Safo noted. “They leave when systems fail them.”

Addressing audiences, Safo rejected the notion that consumers are responsible for the crisis, stating that audience behaviour reflects industry choices.

“Audiences respond to what they are taught,” he said. “If patience has replaced payment, it is because the industry allowed it.”

He concluded by describing the current moment as a decisive turning point.

“The future will not be saved by noise or sympathy,” Safo stated. “It will be saved by discipline, enforcement, and the courage to choose long-term value over short-term applause.”

Concerned citizens petition AG, OSP over alleged unlawful roles in GoldBod operations

[ad_1]

A group describing itself as concerned citizens has petitioned the Office of the Attorney-General and the Office of the Special Prosecutor over what it calls alleged unlawful involvement of unlicensed and investigated persons in GoldBod Ghana’s operations.

In the petition addressed to the Attorney-General, the group said it was placing before state authorities “credible intelligence and grave concerns” about the role of an individual currently under investigation for financial loss to the state during the 2024 mineral income investment fund Gold-for-Forex operations.

According to the petition, the individual, identified as Roger Frimpong Kwakye, is alleged to have positioned himself and associated companies within critical stages of GoldBod’s value chain, including assaying, smelting, pricing and refining.

The petitioners questioned the legal basis for Goldstrom, described as operating at the Swiss Port at Kotoka International Airport, to assay and smelt gold on behalf of GoldBod.

“On what legal basis is Mr Roger Frimpong Kwakye or Goldstrom neither licensed nor certified under any category of the GoldBod licensing regime assaying gold, smelting gold, determining gold prices and facilitating the distribution of funds?” the petition asked.

They further alleged that these activities may breach the GoldBod Act, which restricts core operations to certified and licensed entities.

The petition also cited intelligence suggesting that on November 19, 2025, Mr Kwakye, while under investigation by the Office of the Special Prosecutor, attempted to leave the country through Kotoka International Airport without notification.
