“I thought the money would never finish” — Phyna breaks down over family pressure after BBNaija win

Reality TV star Phyna has emotionally opened up about how financial pressure from family members allegedly left her broke after winning Big Brother Naija. In a viral TikTok live session, the former BBNaija winner broke down in tears while speaking about the struggles she faced after receiving her ₦100 million prize.

According to her, she spent most of the money helping relatives, solving family problems, and supporting loved ones who constantly depended on her financially.

Phyna revealed that after leaving the reality show, she believed the money would last forever because everyone around her focused more on collecting from her than teaching her how to properly invest or manage her finances.

She explained that she paid bills, drilled boreholes for family members, and assisted anyone who came to her for help.

However, things reportedly changed when she started saying no to some requests.

The reality star also alleged that her relationship with some family members became strained after she refused certain demands, including requests involving expensive building materials.

According to her, despite all the support she gave, she still felt unappreciated.“I thought helping everybody would make everyone happy, but the money finished,” she said emotionally during the live session.

The emotional breakdown came shortly after social media users reacted to a viral video showing Phyna working as a waiter at a restaurant. Addressing the criticism, she questioned why many Nigerians look down on jobs like waiting tables and cleaning, while the same jobs are respected abroad.

Phyna insisted there is dignity in honest work and said she would rather work legitimately than pretend to maintain a fake lifestyle because of public expectations.

She also spoke about the current reality facing many reality TV stars, claiming brand endorsement opportunities are no longer as frequent or lucrative as they used to be.

According to her, depending solely on influencing deals is no longer sustainable, especially with the rising cost of living and limited opportunities in the entertainment industry.

Her emotional revelation has sparked conversations online about financial literacy, family pressure, fame, and the importance of proper money management after sudden success.
