Nigerian content creator and founder of the GehGeh School of Marriage, GehGeh, has responded to the wave of criticism following the emergence of videos from his wedding to his partner, Mary.
The private wedding ceremony, which reportedly took place on Saturday, sparked widespread debate online. Many social media users questioned the marriage, arguing that it contradicted his long-standing views on relationships and marriage.Some followers accused him of betraying the principles he had promoted over the years, while others claimed his teachings negatively affected their own relationships.
Reacting to the controversy, GehGeh took to X (formerly Twitter) to defend himself, insisting that he never advised anyone against getting married.“I never for once told y’all not to get married. Did I? If yes show me a video of me telling you not to marry.”However, shortly after his statement, several users shared older videos in which GehGeh reportedly said he would never marry or remain in a relationship. In some of the clips, he described marriage as a “financial mistake” and a “scam,” fueling further criticism from fans and social media users.The debate continues online, with many questioning whether his recent marriage aligns with the messages he previously shared, while others argue that people are free to change their views over time.
