Ghanaian singer Captan has stirred reactions online after alleging that music star Shatta Wale once helped Nigerian Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy during a difficult period in Ghana.
Speaking during a recent podcast interview, Captan claimed Burna Boy was allegedly arrested in Ghana for smoking weed and that Shatta Wale stepped in to secure his release from police custody.
According to him, Shatta Wale sent him and a few others to help handle the situation and get Burna Boy out.“I once bailed Burna Boy out of prison in Ghana when he was arrested for smoking weed,” Captan said. “Shatta Wale sent me and some guys to go and free him from police custody.”
Captan also claimed that there was another time when Burna Boy was allegedly facing threats from some dangerous individuals, and Shatta Wale’s camp gave him shelter and support.“There was a time we also accommodated him when some people were after his life. We helped him settle the case,” he added.
The singer further revealed that his relationship with Burna Boy is no longer the same following the Nigerian star’s fallout with Shatta Wale.Despite the tension, Captan said both he and Shatta Wale are still open to reconciling with Burna Boy if he chooses to make peace.
The claims have since sparked conversations online, especially among fans of both African music stars, although Burna Boy has not publicly responded to the allegations.
