Nigerian singer Niniola has poured out her heart in an emotional tribute to her late husband, Michael Ndika, saying his death has left her shattered and struggling to cope.
Taking to Instagram, the singer shared touching words about the man she described as her best friend, confidant, business partner and the center of her world.
According to Niniola, she still finds herself expecting Michael to walk through the door, unable to fully accept that he is gone.“My best friend, my confidant, my pillar, my gossip partner, my laughter, my joy giver, my provider, my business partner, my husband, my brother… he was the air I breathe,” she wrote.
The singer admitted that the pain has been overwhelming, saying she constantly looked forward to his return anytime he stepped out.“I can’t survive this,” she wrote emotionally, adding that they spent nearly all their time together because he always wanted her close by his side.
Niniola also revealed that she is naturally a loner and that Michael was all she needed because of the special role he played in every part of her life.
The singer had earlier announced his passing on May 20, though details surrounding his death have not been made public.
The couple were together for 13 years, building a relationship rooted in friendship, companionship and support.
Michael Ndika was also known as the CEO of NaijaReview, a multimedia platform focused on Afro-house and African music.
Since the heartbreaking announcement, fans and colleagues have continued to send prayers and condolence messages to the grieving singer.
