The family of late actress Zeenat Balogun has finally shared the cause of her death, nearly two years after her passing.Zeenat, the first daughter of veteran Nollywood actor Saheed Balogun, passed away in October 2024.

In a heartfelt tribute marking her posthumous birthday, her half-brother, Kahlid Balogun, revealed that Zeenat had been living with sickle cell disease and eventually lost her battle with the condition.
Sharing a video featuring family members, friends, and loved ones, Kahlid described Zeenat as a strong and courageous woman who faced the challenges of sickle cell anemia with remarkable grace and resilience.He noted that although she is no longer physically present, her memory, love, and impact continue to live on through those who knew her. Zeenat was the daughter of Saheed Balogun and his former wife, Sherifat, before the actor later married actress Fathia Balogun.Her family says her strength, courage, and enduring legacy remain an inspiration to them and to everyone who followed her journey.
