TrialIain Robertson, a former star of the Scottish TV series River City, has been found guilty of rape and several other offences following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow.
The court heard that the offences involved multiple women over a period spanning from 2004 to 2019. One of the incidents the jury considered took place between 2018 and 2019.
During proceedings at the High Court in Glasgow, the complainant described non-consensual sexual activity, while Robertson denied wrongdoing and claimed he was able to recognise consent and non-verbal cues.
Despite his denial, the jury convicted him on five charges in total, including rape.Robertson, aged 45, is now awaiting sentencing, which is scheduled to take place at the High Court in Edinburgh on 23 July.
