Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has revealed that the massive success of her blockbuster Behind The Scenes, which earned more than ₦2.7 billion at the box office, came at the cost of months of hard work, sleepless nights and personal sacrifices.
Speaking during an interview, the award-winning actress explained that achieving such a milestone required complete dedication to her craft. She admitted that there were times she became so focused on work that she even forgot to eat.
According to Akindele, she sacrificed her social life and personal comfort while working on the project, choosing to devote her time to research, writing and filmmaking.She also disclosed that she stopped paying much attention to her appearance, saying she only styled her hair for important occasions such as red carpet events.
She added that she rarely attended parties or visited people because her energy was fully invested in building her career.The actress said she is only now beginning to slow down and make time for herself, enjoying skincare routines, self-care and a more relaxed lifestyle after completing the demanding project.
